The fiesta

Day one of the alpaca fiesta
We were introduced to several Peruvian manufacturers today all of which showed us beautiful garments of good quality. The organisers really pulled out all of the stops, we even received a fun goody bag.

After a string of business meetings we worked up an appetite and treated our selves to sandwiches waffles and brownies.

We were then entertained with an incredible opening ceremony with a live band, dancers in traditional dress. A really spectacular show of Peruvian culture, vivid colours and a breath taking back drop. Chantelle really got into the spirit as she was taken to dance and join in the festive fun, much to Katie's amusement.

A language barrier proved difficult, as we tried explaining we had already eaten lunch, but they were determined to make us eat again. Then followed a three course meal and two very sickly girls.

We then managed to catch a glimpse of an alpaca show, we watched Suri and hycaya alpacas being judged in all of there glory.

A great day was then finished off by an exclusive visit to an exhibition by the famous photographer Maro Testino, who is known for photographing the late Princess Diana. his work showed Peruvian fashion with a twist throughout history. We then moved on to the monasterio de Santa catilina for cocked tales and appetisers. We made great friends including a baby lamb!

The setting was perfect and we were spoiled with further dancing, it can certainly be said that Peruvians know how to put on a show.
If this is only day 1 then roll on day 2 !
