Final Day

After a busy week of business meetings we decided to spend our last day indulging in some peruvian culture and some shopping ! We were delighted to find a beautiful chocolate shop, so we made sure we stocked up with plenty for friends and family

After all that shopping we had quite an appetite, so we stopped off for a spot of lunch in a restaurant that had a view to die for. The Plaza de armas, surrounded by the cathedral and various portals the plaza de armas has a beautiful bronze fountain in the centre.

We squeezed in a quick visit round the cathedral, which was impressive.

You can not come to Arequipa without paying a visit to the Monasterio De Santa Catalina. Founded in 1579 and constructed from sillar, a white volcanic rock, the monastery is very impressive but we found it's history quite shocking. Even more surprising is that there are 15 nuns still in residence today.
